The Beautiful Side Of Time

Whats up yall...the name is Heath and I'm new to the blogging world...figured I would give this thing a try and see where it goes...I've been inspired by a few blogging friends of mine who have touched my life with their words and so I figured maybe there is someone out there who I can help out through my words as well...So for my first "official" blog let me start off with something that is my life's motto "Carpe Diem"

The Latin term "Carpe Diem" means seize the day!!! The idea behind it is we were given this one life to live and make the most of...are we wasting our time on our own selfish persuits that will leave us empty and regretful or are we making the most of our lives and living them to the fullest!!!

There is a wonderful poem that goes perfect with my blog tonight: It's titled "To The Virgins, To Make Much Of Time."
"Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying;
And this same flower that smiles today,
Tomorrow will be dying.

The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun,
The higher he's a getting,
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he's to setting.

That age is best which is the first,
When youth and blood are warmer;
But being spent, the worse and worst
Times still succeed the former.

Then be not coy, but use your time,
And while you may, go marry;
For, having lost but once your prime,
You may forever tarry."

I titled this first blog "The Beautiful Side Of Time" because that is what I wanna talk about with u...u see for some time passes slowly...an hour can feel like an eternity...for others there is never enough time...in fact for most of us both these statements are true in different times in our life...when we are young time drags by and we end up wishing away and wasting our youth hoping and planning for the day we will be adults and all the things we will do then...instead of living in the moment and enjoying what youth we have we waste it away...then when we are older time flies by...there is never enough time in the day to do all the things we need and want to do...however one may feel about time, the thing I want to show u here is the beautiful side of time...

Time is beautiful because it is fleeting...it is here today and then it is gone forever...u can't get it back...Time is precious because it is fleeting...the Bible tells us in James 4:14 "For what is your life? It is even a vapour that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away." Because no man or woman knows when they will draw their last breath everyday could be your last day...when u think of time in this way it becomes something that is sacred and precious and something not to be wasted...our lives are just a moment in time...God gave each of us this one moment...what are u gonna do with your moment...are u gonna seize the moment and make the most of your life and every breath God gives u or are u gonna sit back and let your moment pass u by...

Every moment of everyday is important because that moment may be your last...our time is valuable...what we do with it makes all the difference...Thoreau said "most men lead lives of quiet desperation" they waste their lives on their own selfish pursuits and end up empty and regretful looking back over a wasted life and wasted time...Don't let that be u...take time to stop and smell the roses and enjoy this one life God gave u...

Carpe Diem!!! Seize each day and make your lives extraordinary!!! Make the most of every moment...make each day count...how do we do this u may ask...well ask 10 ppl and u will get 10 different answers...but since this is my blog post I will tell u in my opinion how u live your life to the fullest and make the most of every moment: by living for the things that matter most!!! And what are these things u may ask...well first the most important decision any man/woman will ever make is will I live my life for myself or will I live my life for God?? This is the ultimate question we all must answer...We were created by God to have a relationship and fellowship with Him...that was God's primary reason for creating each of us...but God gives mankind something He didn't give the rest of creation...FREE WILL...the right to choose what we will do with our lives and whom we will serve...there is only 2 choices...we can live for and serve God or we can live for and serve ourselves...we all have that right...but the choice u make determines how u live your life and how u spend your time and wether or not u live life to the fullest or waste what little time God has given u...

God sent His only Son to die for your sins so that u could have a realtionship and fellowship with Him...think on that for a minute...Almighty God the creator of all things wants to have a relationship with each one of us...thats mind blowing...u would think God would have better things to do but He loves us so much that He wants to have an intimate personal relationship with each one of us...but he doesn't force us to do anything...He gives us the choice...to whom will u serve...God or Self??  I've served both in my short life and I can conclude with Solomon that everything under the sun is vanity apart from God...Vanity of vanity all is vanity...there is no living and there is no life apart from God...He is the giver of life and only in Him can life be found...apart from Him there is only existence...most ppl just exist...they are like ghosts or lost souls wondering the earth looking for something to fill the hole in their soul...they are not living...they are only existing...for life can only come through a relationship with God...there is no life apart from God...but when we serve God and live for Him and have that daily fellowship and relationship, then we are living and we are living life to the fullest...if we have this relationship with God then we can enjoy the other things in life God intended for us to enjoy...things like relationships with our people and friends and family...

Not only do we need a realtionship with God but we need realtionships with others...its part of our humanity...the need and desire for human connection...there is no greater pleasure in all the world then to connect with another human being...we are all members of the human race and we all need each other to survive...we can't do life alone because there is no true living alone...life is experienced in our relationships with others...so make the most of your life and enjoy an intimate personal relationship with God and enjoy all the relationships u have with others...because life is short, each conversation u have with someone may be the last u ever share with them...make the most of the time u have with them, seize each moment and make those connections that feed the soul...The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever...thats what we will be doing for all eternity...why not start doing that now and make the most of your life...make the most of all your relationships so u don't live in regret...smile and laugh and enjoy life because you only live once...live for those things which matter most and enjoy every moment God gives u...

One day we are all gonna grow old and die...that is a certainty...I wonder how many of us will die without ever really living...dying is nothing to be feared...it is just the next step we all must take...don't be affraid of dying, be affraid of the unlived life...there is nothing more tragic then to come to the end of your life and discover that u never really lived at all...there is no life apart from God...serve Him today and begin today to start living your life to the fullest and making the most of every oppurtunity and every moment God gives u...not just in serving Him and serving others but in everything u do, do all to the glory of God...make your life count....seize the day ppl, make your lives extraordinary...time is fleeting...its just a stolen season...make the most of what little time u have because one day u will stand in judgment before God and He will ask u "what did u do with my Son Jesus?" and then "what did u do with the time I gave u?"  What will your answer be...u were given this one life to live...LIVE FOR THE THINGS THAT MATTER MOST!!!!

From "Walden" by Henry David Thoreau
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear, nor did I wish to practice resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life."
